According to Wikipedia “Survival of the fittest” is a phrase that originated in evolutionary theory as an alternative (but less accurate) way of describing the mechanism of natural selection. It is more commonly used today in other contexts; to refer to a supposed greater probability that “fit” as opposed to “unfit” individuals will survive some test. (Darwin)
I don’t believe in any theory of Darwin’s. However, I do believe it is a survival of the fittest, not how much muscle you have. I believe the “fit battle” is how you conduct your life. Take a look at what the Bible says about this:
Parable of Tares
Matthew 13
24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26 But when the blade was sprung up and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest, I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
Did you catch the part where he says “Nay, lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them…. Let them both grow together until harvest….. then gather the tares first”? Hmmmmmmm
Let’s see how Christ explained it to the disciples.
The parable of Tares Expounded
36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom, but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world, and the reapers are the angels.
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be at the end of this world.
41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
WOW! Some people think that “end of the word stuff” is scary. I’m excited not scared!
Most people are familiar with what a seed is and what makes it grow. When I was a kid we had a garden above our house where my mother taught me how to raise my own vegetables. It was a lot of work; plowing, hoeing, sweating, more sweating (I don’t like to sweat) and the worst part weeding. You see when a weed pops up in a garden it tries to wrap it roots around your good plant, and that is where it tries to suck all of the nutrients from the good plant to help itself grow. Can you see where I’m going with this? If you try to dig out that weed the plant has a better chance of producing good fruits. However, you risk killing the good plant.
Let’s get this straight; The sower is the Christ, the field is the world, The good seeds are Christians, and the tares are sinners.
Christ told them to leave the sinners among the Christian until the end of the world. Oh My! My head is spinning with all kinds of revelation.
Knowing that weeds suck all the nutrients out of a good plant, how does the plant survive without removing the weeds? Holding his head up high and absorbing the Son! Keeping strong roots in God’s word (No weapon formed against me shall prosper, Great is thy faithfulness, surely goodness and mercy shall follow thee ALL the days of your life, resist the devil and he with WHAT? Flee! Don’t forget Paul, good ole Paul said is I Peter that we should greatly rejoice even though we are weighed down with the temptations of life.)
The answer is when you feel like the people around you are sucking the very life out of you, its time to rejoice and praise God! Rely on His word to feed you. Have FAITH!
God is not coming back for those who can’t withstand until the end. He’s looking for Christians that despite the odds, surrounding and what the weeds may be telling them can still grow and produce good fruit!!!!!
I don’t believe God is going to send His angels down to scoop us up before we have been through some stuff. Satin wants to suck the life right out of you. And God wants us to prove that we are the strong Christians……..Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Quit sitting around and “waiting for Him to come by doing nothing!” Root yourself in God’s word pray that he will reveal Himself to you in the scriptures. Share with your children, family, and friends. Bare good fruit! Don’t be the one that is scooped up, and gather out of his kingdom, the one that offends, and does iniquity. verse 42 says………..And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
It is a Survival of the fittest … the Christians that can stand until the end!!!!
Glory to God, what an encouraging word. For we know that the troubles of this life will come, but we are called to build our hope and trust on a great and mighty foundation. Christ Jesus! God bless you, thanks for sharing.
